for a second i thought you said 'clothing alternatives' as in 'clothing optional', and i was wondering where the Village of Nudism was!
maybe that is off Buena Vista behind a big clump of wooded land.

Just had a pair of pants hemmed by Yola Buchanan--(352) 430 2649. She lives in Lakes of Lady Lakes. It's about a mile from Sam's. VERY reasonable.

Can't recall the name of it, but there is a dry cleaners in Wildwood that has a big hanger on the front. They hemmed a formal gown for me for $12 and did a fantastic job.

Not only are the dry cleaners expensive for alterations but they are slow. Four pairs of slacks to be hemmed up 2", it cost $56 and took more than 3 weeks.

Not used to that treatment , even in the northeast.

I wondered how much the dry cleaners charge. I just finished hemming up nine pairs of new pants for my husband, six of which are jeans. At $14. a pop, he owes $126.! Not sure he paid that much for them to begin with.

Isn't it nice to know how to do things the old fashioned things? You go girl!

I used to darn socks. and replace zippers, but no more.

But...I am glad I brought my sewing machine. The draperies in our bedroom that I made keep out the way too early morning light.;)

One of my favorite posters on here, who also rides a motorcycle, knows how to sew. My kinda guy!
