Jim, the American Legion is at the corner of 466 and Rolling Acres Road. Its down a hill so hard to see from the road, but if you make a right from 466 onto Rolling Acres South, the first left is the long drive way down to the Legion. I don't believe you need to be a member of the Legion to join in this dance.

chacha,
Can you tell us the type of music at both American Legion and Levi's Restaurant. I know several that would be interested if it's not all country music!! I'm fairly new in The Villages and have taken several classes, so now have met a number of dancers that are looking for some good places to go!!
Thanks, RiteLucky

Thanks for the directions Kathie. I can join whenever they want as I'll be a resident on 12/29.

sorry i was off computer for a few days...thanks kathie for sending jim strazz the location...as for the music, the last dance was danny and johnny and one of the next will be amy reese and other pretty good venues...the music sat night at levi's was gail, some disco, some oldies, some waltz etc....they are not really ballroom dances but the people who attend seem to be fairly good dancers and enjoy themselves...give them a try! looking forward to our friend jim arriving in tamarind grove to ring in the new year!

I am making myself available for New Years if there's a Lady out there who likes to dance and wishes she had an escort for that evening. You can PM me if you like, thanks.

jim and edd

wow, jim, you are a brave soul...am sure you will get many replies! ladies, i can attest that jim is a good dancer, nice dresser and a fine companion. now, edd, i am sorry about your disappointment last year...i do usually post times, but a good rule of thumb to remember is that social events in the bubble both start and end early. anything at a recreation center usually ends by ten. bars in sumter landing cannot serve alcohol after midnight, and in spanish springs it goes a bit later as that is a different county...plus for some reason a lot of these people like to wake up at the crack of dawn to go play golf or do some fitness class (not me) so they turn in early. :)

Christmas blues

rather than start a new thread i thought i would just address the topic of Christmas blues among our singles...at a time when everyone is supposed to be happy and expecting to give and receive gifts, it can be lonesome to know there is really no one special in our lives to fuss over at this time of year...last night i went to the church on the square in spanish springs for a wonderful performance by the villages string orchestra and it really lifted my spirits. tonight the village voices will be performing...there is a good performance every night (except Christmas day) until after new year's. the cost is only a $2 donation to the food pantry and if you bring a friend it can really brighten up your Christmas season...performances begin at six pm and last about an hour...we must do all we can at this time of year to keep up not only our own spirits but those of our other single friends....we get by with a little help from our friends, as the song says....

Very insightful, chachacha. Christmas comes with mixed emotions for everyone, but we can be there for each other, offer suggestons, and take time to discover the sparkling blessings and joys that are so unique to the holiday season.
