Plant a lamp. How does this thing work??
Inquiring minds want to know how this works?
Any scientific minded people want to take a stab at it? Here is a link to this conversation piece. http://www.plantalamp.net/ I wonder what happens when there is a large bug climbing on one of these things? We once had an anole which lived in an inside plant for a few months. You would know it was still there because every once in a while the leaves would start moving with no air current in play. |
I am guessing the simple answer is here, reading the following should clear it up: :1rotfl:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitance I am just kidding, but I do remember my father explaining to me how a touch sensitive lamp works when I had to fix one. ALL I recall of the conversation is the human body is a capacitor and I should have studied harder in school ... |

I guess the plantalamp people want you to keep the plant watered so that there is some water in the leaves which conduct the electrical current to the microchip. |
I don't know how it works but at those prices I'll never find out.
