Fresh Shrimp
 

Where can we buy fresh steamed shrimp in the area?

All the local stores are selling frozen shrimp.

As I understand it, all shrimp are frozen on the shrimp boat the minute they come out of the water.

Also, Alton Brown suggests that this is a better way to treat and purchase fish, that flash freezing prevents bruising and seals in flavor. I love New Years Eve dinner!!! Yum!

Where can you buy shrimp and have them steamed while you wait?

All our grocery stores in Delaware would steam the shrimp for their customers.

Not sure about the Villages locations but Publix in the Orlando and Tampa area would steam your shrimp purchase for you while you shopped.

Most all shrimp is frozen at sea, but if you see shrimp with heads still on, then that is more then likely fresh. Citrus stand on 466 has fresh shrimp
