$32.00 Plus your $82.00 6 month "priority fee" using your own cart. $47.00 for a resident. If you add a portion of "priority fee" of $15.00 it comes to $47.00. Also if suddenly you had a health issue and couldn't play You won't get reimbursed. It happened to a few people in our golf group who had a yearly membership.:yuck:

It is typically $25,000 for initiation fees for a moderate Country Club with monthly dues being $400-500. And that means you play one course every time you play.

Well said, Gracie. As far as I know, those country clubs don't reimburse, either. They didn't where we come from and the courses are not what they are here. You're also right in that you are limited to usually only having one course for those.

The country clubs here are open for anyone to play without any kind of membership. The green fees are just higher than those with memberships or Villages residency, plus you have to add the cart/trail fee cost which is minimal. Also, anyone can eat at any of the country clubs anytime, whether they play golf or not, for the same price as residents or priority members and no monthly assessment. Overall, it seems to be a great deal.

There have been some discussions with appropriate math to determine 'priority' breakeven etc.

Basically it comes down to about 1 per week breakeven. Play less than that and you lose money. Play more than that and you are in the black.

If you buy a priority which i have done since moving here in 2006 then you need to play 66 timesin that year to break even.

There is only one issue with priority that leaves me a little flat.

The tier system states that is is priority/priority first, then priority/guest and then priority/resident then resident/resident.

I have the answer but question why priority/guests are above priority/residents/ I otherwords why should a guest be given better treatment then a resident who bought a home here? i mean the gust has no skin in the game.

Of course the answer is twofild. First it is to influence guest to buy here. Secondly it is a silent message to residents that they ought to buy priority

Why not ask Janet Tutt? She always seems to provide straight-forward answers. BTW, I think you raise a good point about priority/ guest having priority over priority/resident. I didn't know that.

Then go somewhere else to play. That will be less people on the great golf courses we have here................My goodness

I've seen that 66 times mentioned before but that doesn't take into account the seasonal rate differences and times of day rates. For example if you were to play 66 times between May 1st and Oct 14th after 11am on most courses you would only save $198, that's far less than the cost of a membership. Non-members green fees is $19 and Priority Members is $16, only a $3 savings.

Is your 6 month membership apply to any particular starting month?

In other words, can I have just a 6 month membership starting in the month of my choice?

I think it starts on the date you purchase it. So, if you get it 1/1/12, it should end at the end of June.

So true.....and here we don't have minimum spending requirements, assessments for capital improvements, 20% service charge, nor required letters of recommendation from club members (when you probably don't know enough members yet)...nor review by the board of trustees and membership to see if anyone wants you excluded.

I think sometimes people don't know how good we have it here!

PRIVATE COUNTRY CLUBS ARE HURTING, MOST NO LONGER HAVE INITIATION FEES, SPENDING REQUIREMENTS, OR WAITING LISTS...MANY HAVE SPECIAL LOW RATES TO SEDUCE NEW MEMBERS... THE GOLFING WORLD HAS TAKEN A BIG HIT IN THE LAST 5 YEARS...I AGREE TV GOLF RATES ARE HIGHER THEN THEY SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!!!!:agree:
