I believe EZGO make ac motor driven golf carts.

EZGO and Tyger make golf carts with AC motors. My understanding is that the Tyger is produced in China. From the owners I have talked to, AC motor driven golf carts handle hills better than the DC driven ones. I have also read somewhere that Tomberline may be producing carts with AC motors...not sure.

You can Google my username for more info. We make AC drives for golf cars. However, we do not sell directly to public. You can ask a local golf car dealer to contact me, and we can go from there.

AC

EZ-Go are AC carts and Tomberlin's exclusive Shelby is a AC cart but at 17k iit is more expensive than a new Smart Car!

I have an EZGo golf cart and it is wonderful. It does not slow down on hills or going over the 441/27 bridge. Great cart!

We're running out of time. Gotta get it all done!

mulligan, you don't have to go 30mph. Just maintain 19.9 going up hills, not 14mph as some carts do.

Sometimes I'm so busy at Point A, I don't have enough time to get to Point B. :icon_wink:

You added a new wrinkle for me. Not being electrically inclined, I never thought about AC vs DC. Was thinking we'd get one gas and one electric. BUT, after reading up more on AC vs DC and the few hills in TV, I'm thinking now that AC is a better choice. Apparently it is a little pricey to convert a DC cart, but I'd think it would be worth it.

During our weekly visits, we rent from owners and most have electric carts. We sure have noticed the drastic slow down going up hill, to the point that people would pass us!

Thanks for the thread on this issue, it sure helped me get a little more educated on the topic!:)

JG ..if you're going electric the EZ Go RXV is the way to go.Mine maintains a steady 22 m.p.h. going uphill, downhill or straight aways!
