Lost male tabby cat Jan 22 in Belvedere Village

2 Attachment(s)
We lost our male dark tabby on Sunday from 424 Canterburry Ct in Belvedere Village. He and his ragdoll/siamese looking sister escaped on Sunday and she came back last night but he is still MIA. He is neutered and declawed and microchipped. He is 14 and in good health and very loved, we have had him since he was a tiny kitten and very much want him to come home!

I have attached a picture of both just in case anyone saw them together. He really loves tuna so if you have a shy tabby coming to your yard he will likely stay around if you put out tuna for him.

If you see a cat fitting this description please call Janey at 5.7.3.. 3.5.5.. 4.7.3.2 any time, even if it is late at night.Attachment 1677

We live in Belvedere Village. I promise I'll watch for your cat. I have tuna ready for him. Have you posted a notice at the Postal Station?

cattail 01-25-2012 06:47 PM

Thanks so much Barefoot! No we haven't posted at the Postal Station. We will do that tomorrow. Where do I get permission to do so? We put an add in the paper that will come out tomorrow.

I just asked my husband to be on the lookout for your cat. He said he saw a dark cat around 6pm on the golf course in back of our house. He thought it was a feral cat. We live on Churchill Greens Golf Course. I went outside and called, but it is dark now. I don't think the cat will stay around our house because we have two dogs. I'll call you with our address.

The local radio station often mentions lost or found pets with descriptions. I think calling the radio station probably reaches more people than an ad in the paper. But everything helps.

cattail there is an abundance of information about locating lost cats on this site. A few cats were found in their neighbor's garage. When my cat went missing I would go out early in the Am when it was quiet and call her name and do the same at dusk. After a couple of days I heard a soft meow coming from some shrubs and found her hiding. Please keep us posted.

That would be wonderful if it was him! I am actually posting for my mom but I am getting her on here too.

Cattail, your mom came over tonight to look for your lost tabby, but it was very dark in the ravine. We'll be on the watch for him tomorrow. Your mom is welcome to use our house as her search headquarters. Fingers crossed, Hopefully we'll see him tomorrow.

Thanks so much Barefoot! Mom is putting up flyers today and put an ad on the radio too. She doesn't know how to put a flyer up at the postal stop though. Does she need to ask permission?

Also, does anyone know how to find out where the storm drains go to? We are suspicious he may have gone down the one in her back yard and could not get out and had to go to the other end.

Community Watch 352-750-8201 may be able to answer your questions or direct you to the proper authority.

Sometimes people with lost pets hand out flyers at the local postal stop at mail time. And then the people who get the flyers often tell their neighbors to be on the lookout. If your mom wants to hand out flyers, I'll help her do that. She has my number.

Is it reasonable to ask neighbors if we can look in their garages to see if he is hiding in there? Or to leave the door open enough for him to get out at night? I really feel like he must be holed up somewhere and afraid to come out. He is very frightened of people other than my mom and her husband and me.

Sure, I think it is reasonable to ask neighbors if you can look in their garages. Most people in TV are very kind hearted. I don't think people would want to leave their garage doors up at night, though, even a little bit. Just my opinion.

I've been asking neighbors in my area to keep a lookout for your cat. Flyers to your mom's neighbors would be a really good idea. Please don't give up hope.

Just checking ... Have you found your cat yet?

cattail 01-30-2012 06:47 PM

No, but mom got a call from a neighbor that saw her poster today. She said she saw him in her yard on Friday so mom is going over to look for him tonight. Thanks for asking! He must be having a really good time to not come home!

Please let us know what happens. It is encouraging that he is still in the neighborhood.
