West VIRGINIA picnic in villages in March
 

Just curious how many WVirginians are here in the Villages that are going to the event in March. Anyone from Slagle, Logan areas of WV here?

I grew up in Logan. I lived there until 1996 when I moved to Charleston. I don't know anything about the picnic though.

West Virginia Picnic on march 4th, Hacienda Village in the villages I believe. the tickets are $15.00 ea. your money must be in by feb. 23,2012. not selling tickets at the door...

Sunday, MARCH 4, 2012
10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.

The Villages, Florida 32159

La Hacienda Catering will serve our noon lunch buffet in the
Gold Room and the Blue Room.
Cost this year will remain $15.00 per attendee, which includes
entrance fee, food, beverages, entertainment, and door prizes.

Doors open at 10:00 A.M. for your registration.
Tickets for the 50/50 drawing and gift baskets will be available in
The Gold Room along with coffee and cookies.

Noon Luncheon Menu
BBQ Chicken Pieces, BBQ Pork and Rolls
Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad
Iced Tea, Coffee and Dessert


Money to guarantee reservations must be received no later than
February 23, 2012.
Please provide names and addresses, including maiden names, of all attending
for name tags and future notification of the West Virginia Picnic.
Sorry no money will be accepted at the door.

We like to hear about good times!

I was Sports Editor of the Williamson Daily News in 1954-55, married a Cinderella girl (died in 2004), Monnie Turkette. I still know some people in Mingo County although I live in Tallmadge, Ohio now. Paula and I will be renting in The Villages, just off No. 2 hole of the Silver Lake Executive Golf Course. If you're still there in 2015, maybe we can say "Hey!" and talk about Bloody Mingo. I grew up outside Fairmont in Monongah.

Will there be West Virginia Picnic in 2015?
 

Paula and I will be renting in The Villages, off No. 2 hole of the Silver Lake executive golf course, Jan. 1March 31, 2015. Will there be a West Virginia Picnic during that time? When? Where?

We visited The Villages last year to get a feel for the place, and loved it. So we're giving it a 3-month feel this time.

We look forward to our The Villages visit in 2015.

March was two months ago unless you mean next year.

If I remember correctly, the picnic is the first Sunday in March every year. The committee e-mail used to be wvpicnic@hotmail.com
