Coffee hurts

I was eating lunch on the 1st of February with my friend and his 6-year-old granddaughter and I asked her, "What day is tomorrow?"

She said "It's President's Day!"

She is a smart kid. So, I asked "What does President's Day mean?" I was waiting for something about Washington or Lincoln etc.

She replied, "President's Day is when President Obama steps out of the White House, and if he sees his shadow we have one more year of unemployment."

You know, it hurts when hot coffee spurts out your nose …. :1rotfl:

Sad day when you include children in your slanderous thoughts.

As another on this board would say "It's a joke. Lighten up."

Guest 02-08-2012 06:17 AM

That's funny will have to use that in some of the classes that I give.

You certainly have a lot of something to make that accusation after your hateful and spiteful post in the thread you began called "Here we go again"

His closet door is wide open today.

Hey, even I thought it was funny. Totally inaccurate but funny. Groundhog Day and President's Day are 18 days apart. Unemployment is down. Jobs are up.

Funny joke, though.

What's sad is having to put up with this kind of attitude and behavior that can only come out of a highly biased politically motivated mind with no sense of humor. I regret though that I cannot give you the kind of response you really deserve on TOTV for this act of provacation and attempt at charactor assassination.

Thank you for recognizing it for what it was. However, I don't know how you can say it was inaccurate since we don't really know where unemployment figure will be one year from now! Hopefully it will be inacurrate, but to say so now would take a crystle ball or H.G. Well's Time Machine. If you have either let me know. We could make a killing at the track or with the Lottery!

MMmmm ..... a 6-year old who makes economic forecasts based on whether someone sees his shadow. Sounds like Republican economics.

Maybe that 6-year old (yeah, right) "smart kid" can tell us what happened to all those WMD's Iraq had?

OMG, another left wing activist who has no political sense of humor! I guess that Mr. Emanuels statement of "Never allow a crisis to go to waste" is not the only thing that the left has taught their people to not let go to waste! :ohdear:

Hey wait a second... I was wrong! You left-wingers do have a political humor... at least when Jon Stewart is bashing the right. Why you even love it when he makes fun of the elderly! Sorry for my mistake!

I for one would not find it funny if he used children to enhance a political sarcasm.

skyguy79: that was really funny...never saw the punch line coming.

What sadden me were some of the replies. First posters never even acknowledged the joke before expressing their disdain. Come on have we really come to a point that we can laugh with one another. I was expecting someone who disagreed to have a whimiscal comeback. Have we lost our creativity along with our sense of humor? How can we demand civility of our political leaders if we don't practice what we preach

Ture story...My son (5 years old at the time) hid his birthday money under his mattress after Bill Clinton was elected president. When we asked why he did it, his was reply was "Grampa told me if that man won the election, we need to hide our money". They may be young, but that doesn't make them stupid.
