I need some TV definitions explained please

O.k......I know what a 'snowbird' is but what the heck is a 'snowflake' and a 'frog'?

Are there other terms of endearment I need to know? I want to fit in the next time we get to TV :D

Airhead = one who uses an oxygen bottle to assist breathing :)

BUMP = Move the thread to the top of the list
CDD = Community Development District VCDD FAQs
CYV = Courtyard Villa
Frog = here til we croak.
FWIW = For what it's worth
IMHO = In my humble opinion
IMO = In my opinion.
kick stand = cane :)
Lanai = Florida term for what Northerners typically call "a porch"
LPP = Lifestyle Preview Plan
LSL = Lake Sumter Landing Market Square
LSV = Life Style Visit
OP = Original Poster
OT = Off topic
PITA = Party In The Afternoon!
Pita = Pain in the a**
QTIP when driving, it refers to a senior citizen when you can only see
their gray hair and their neck.

district for the amenities south of 466.

Everyone's definition is different. To me, a snowbird is someone who comes to visit for an extended period of time. A snowflake is someone who comes occasionally for a visit. A seasonal resident owns a home in TV but usually owns another home up north.

A frog lives full time in TV and will be here until they croak.

You'll figure out the terminology as you read the threads. "In The Bubble" and "On Campus" refer to being "on the ground" in TV. Drinking the Koolaid refers to the feeling of helplessness that afflicted most of us when we first visited TV, and somehow ended up buying a home, often unplanned!

Thank you for those very helpful explanations! Some I knew but some I didn't.....now I feel a bit more prepared to walk the walk and talk the talk so I 'fit in' ;)

Don't worry about "fitting in"
Just be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

Hutch:

As Vice President of The Villages Airheads, I am very happy to see your proper definition of an Airhead! :a040:

Small point: we prefer to be capitalized, as above; it signifies that we are to some degree important! :a040:

Some folks insist that, being airheads, we must be flaky, or weird, or unstable, or fools, or someone less than bright. Such definitions are probably equally as valid, in the long run, as that most of us use supplemental oxygen!

Duely noted. Thank you for the clarification!

Hutch!!

Thank you for my laugh of the day with your list. You are never too old to learn something and there were a few new gems that I was not aware of.:MOJE_whot:
