Golf Car Parking at Home

If we purchase a home with a two car garage (and No golf car garage)
and we have Two Cars to put in the garage...............
WHERE are we "allowed" to park the golf car??
Do most people just park the golf car on their driveway? With all the pictures of homes, we have never seen a car Or a golf car sitting on the driveway or street.

Reduce the size of your fleet.

Golf cart is easy to steal....

I would be concerned about a golf cart disappearing if I left it outside over night as a normal practice. Stealing a car is much more difficult.

If you want to keep 2 cars get a home with a cart garage.
Shuffling 2 cars and a cart gets old pretty quickly. Better yet, you'll always have to keep in mind what's behind you on the driveway when you run out to the garage in a hurry to make your next "event", jump into the vehicle, roar out in reverse and ---- oops, BANG.:ohdear:

In answer to your question, I think most people leave the car out and garage the cart. Carts are less weather proof, easier to steal and more open the theft of clubs and other personals.

Leave our truck out and the golf cart in the garage. One car family, two car garage. No way to fit our truck in with out it being a squeeze.

Is golf cart theft a big problem in TV?

keithwand 02-16-2012 03:19 PM

More so than in Orlando.

Exactly.....two golf carts and one car.

Mikeod 02-16-2012 04:06 PM

We have an expanded two-car garage and have both cars and the cart inside. Our larger car goes in one stall, with the smaller car in the other with the cart parked across the back of the small car. Since the small car gets less use, we are not inconvenienced by this method. Our neighbors with a similar garage have two cars and cart parked side by side.

Easier said than done in some cases. We have an expanded (width only) garage w/o GC garage and have two minivans (one handicapped equipped) one golf cart and two mobility scooters to fit in. Ain't gonna happen though. So we park the non mobility vehicle outside.

We intended on trying to find one single mobility vehicle that I could have driven to replace the two we currently have. (Note that I can drive the non-mobility vehicle but cannot the mobility equipped one - kind of a catch 22) But that plan didn't work out, although we tried, and I don't see it happening in the near future. Not giving up hope though that it will work out eventually!

I think you will find that you don't need two cars down here but two golf cars come in handy............we had two and sold one and added 2nd club car.....

If you are looking at photos of homes for sale....people usually remove vehicles from the driveway before they take the photos. A lot of people park their cars in the driveway, but I don’t think anyone would (permanently) park their golf cart in the driveway.

We always (pre-TV) kept our cars in the garage. Once we moved to TV, we downsized to one car and it sits in the driveway, while our two golf carts reside in the garage. We could actually get the car and both carts in the garage, but we like having the extra space in the garage.

My friend who convinced me to move to TV parks her golf cart in the driveway. So far, no problems. Even so, I do agree that the car in the driveway is the more common practice.

Always back in and you will avoid this problem. You gotta back in or out, so we always back in.
