Wow, how do I get on that band wagon? Sure would save us a lot of money to have y'all paying for our grocery bill.

Making dumb statements like that are one of many reasons that Jackson did NOT become the first non-white President and Obama did.

I would call it honorable to help those less fortunate in our society. :smiley:

I don't have no problem with helping those that need help, what I have a problem with is helping those that will not help themselves and only want a hand out and a hand up.

Agree. Problem is the Repubs don't seem to differentiate. They lump all recipients into the lazy, no-good pot. :doh:

Not all Republicans do that.

If Figmo needs help with his groceries, he can go to the Wildwood Food Pantry or to the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake for assistance.

We do have a few Villagers who are in need of assistance and receive supplemental groceries from the pantries. No one is turned away.

This is not government supported but is entirely supported by contributions of the good people in The Villages and some churches.

It is difficult for me to watch young men and women who have worked their way up from the bottom, get a college degree with high GPA and lots of student loans, only to lose that first job to an ethnic person with lower GPA and whose ethnicity got them a free education...It's just a hard pill to swallow for them. I do not begrudge the free education at all. I just wonder how the equal opportunity employer knows just how far each of the people have come or who has worked harder for it, just by looking at the color of their skin.

I've seen it happen in the rest of the working world also...as long as I have been working as a matter of fact-almost 40years!
