Why Does Santorum Hate JFK?
 

Why would Rick Santorum say such an asinine thing such as JFK's speech on religion makes him want to " throw up"? All the Catholics I know love JFK as do most Americans. I just don't get it.

He says he regrets now the use of the phrase "throw up" as a part of his statements regarding the "separation" of church and state, but not the substance of his remarks.

He had some very good things to say about this and you don't have to agree with him, but taking him in context would be nice.

I'll post a link to Bloomberg Business Week, because all the left wing liberal in the pocket of the Democrat Party media is taking the same slant as Jan.

I watched a clip of his interview where he tried to explain that.

He dug a hole even deeper. He said that he didn't like the idea of having to have no faith to be heard in the public square - WHICH WAS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT JFK SAID.

JFK said he wanted people of *ALL* faiths to be heard in the public square. Santorum hears this and somehow replaces the "all" with "no".

I can easily see Santorum disliking JFK over that speech. JFK was answering critics who feared that the Vatican would hold sway over US policies if a Catholic was elected President. JFK specifically said the separation of Church and State was absolute. This is diametrically opposed to Rick Santorum's ideas of how (correct me if I'm wrong) Church can be very intertwined with State.

...the snarky side of me would add "...well, only *approved* or *real* religions" as I don't think Santorum would take even the most peace-loving Imam as an advisor. To be honest, I wonder if he believes that Romney is a Christian. I'm not making an accusation, I'm just curious in light of the comments he made about Obama that he later clarified.

Strict Constitutionalists know there's no blamed thing as "separation of church and state" anywhere in the Constitution, and that is what Santorum is addressing. Let's be at least a little "real" here.

The courts extrapolated some text from the body of a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote. It was not the Constitution, but in a letter that these words appeared. The secularists mined these words from this letter and elevated them to be the most sacred tenet of the secularist's view of Religion in the public square.

Disagreeing with JFK is not hate. It's only hate if you disagree with Obama, I've been told.

Santorum was schtupping a 19 year old intern? I thought he was all for family values and talked about his wife and 16 children all the time.

Ha, ha.....you know I meant JFK, but it was a confusing sentence, and I'm usually much better at sentence construction than that. I made a little correction, so other wisenheimers don't make the same error in comprehension.

Ricky stepped in it even deeper today to Laura Ingraham, when his "clarification" was that he objected to JFK wanting the "privitization of faith."

It really is shameful that it has come to this!

Sentence construction may be difficult for some people - especially those who drink Yeungling instead of bar-brand bourbon. Just think if Santorum had seen the shapely waitress at the watering hole. Would he still have all those family value thoughts? Hmmmm?

Just read on Twitter that Santorum is not winning the Catholic vote in MI, so maybe his JFK speech remark hurt him. I wonder if he'll win the snob vote. I hope he doesn't throw up.

I'm listening now to his speech (don't think he's conceding although Romney has been projected the winner)....I may throw up. :doh:

Now do you agree with what I have been saying for months. Santorum is a red neck racist bigoted scum bag. He is very good at that but fails miserably as an American Patriot.
