Athens at Spanish Springs has Taylor ham. They also do great breakfasts. The best eggs Benedict!

Is it billed as the 'Cardiologist's Delight!'
OK, it is fun and not decadent to enjoy 'a real treat' occasionally, but once retired it is easy to slip into the habit of overdoing. Stay healthy .. "Eat, not too much.. and mostly plants." Eat to live not live to eat. Many wonderful years ahead to enjoy under our bubble world here in The Villages. We each have to decide our own 'course' (no pun intended). "Waiter ........ I'll have the ... ." |

I make pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches a couple of times a month for breakfast and sometimes just pork roll sandwiches on a kaiser roll for lunch. My family's favorite! You can buy the sliced pork roll packages in Publix or have it sliced at the deli counter. And remember it has to be Taylor's! :mmmm: |

I had to find out all by myself. They said it was something like Spam???
And before you fry it you cut four slits in it and it looks like a fireman's badge???? Are you sure it's yummy??? Pork roll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

Spam? For shame for even thinking such a thing!! Pork roll is pure Jersey! Wonderful.

The reason for the slits is to keep it flat in the pan...

Alright. I go to Publix and get Taylor Ham which is really some kind of "lunch meat" which is kinda thick. Comes in a four pack? And I cut slits in it and fry it up and put in on a bun...(you Easterners call it a roll) and add fried egg and cheese and/or mustard/catsup/onion ? Since I don't know nuthin' about rolls, what kind of bun works best for this?
I am looking forward to a new culinary experience. |
