large climate controlled storage

We are moving down and will rent while they are building the house. We have a quote from the movers for storing the stuff before moving in but it seems high. Does anyone have the name of storage facilities "climate controlled" that we could call to check out alternatives? Thanks.

Extra Space Storage on 466

Terri is great to deal with. They advertise here on Talk of the Villages, and I believe a link directly to their website.

Extra Space Storage has air conditioned and non air conditioned storage. 3 story building with freight elevators and free carts to help you move your product from the truck that would be under cover into the facility and then into your unit. They have units from 5x5 up to 10x30 sizes. They do advertise online here. You can click onto the link and check out their prices. They are very professional and if you are unsure of the size unit you need they can help you.

One alternative is to move down and bring nothing! You can buy new for what the movers get to move your tired old crap down here! And store it??

We used PODS. Packed the pod. They picked it up. Stored it for a month in the pod. Delivered it to our house on the day we asked for it. Paid a mover $200 to unload it. It took them 2 hours. Worked terrific. Not sure about the climate control however, you'd have to ask if they offer that.

Extra Space Storage on 466. Terri is great and knowledgable. We did the exact same as you. We rented while our home was being build and needed to store all our earthly belongings. Just keep in mind, if you decide to insure your belongings while in storage, it is costly, no matter what storage facility you use.

when we moved into our new home in 2008 we had no problem using PODS. I have seen threads on TOTV where some people mention that there may or may not be a problem now. You may wish to do a search on PODS. Hopefull some others will state if they had problems with PODS coming to the villages.
