Decisions, Decisions!
Before we put our home on the market, I have one more item on the honey-do list for DH. He thinks it may be a waste of time. What are your thoughts?
Let me first say, we are from the north, so we really don't have any idea how important ceiling fans may be to folks living in FL. I currently have a small chandelier in our guest bedroom that I want to take down & replace with something of lesser value because I want to bring the chandelier with me to TV. For those of you who live in FL, would you ever consider taking down a ceiling fan in a bedroom and replacing it with a fancy light fixture? |

I think you'll want the ceiling fan in FL.

Maybe you could put it in the dining room?

I agree with the above posters. The ceiling fans are invaluable to moving the air around your living space, especially with the amount of time during the year when air conditioning is a necessity. The moving air enables you to keep the thermostat at a higher temperature than you would feel comfortable with without the fans helping the circulation of the air.

We didn't have to turn on our central heat this winter but maybe ten days total, our electric bills were all in the $90's. A masonry CYV is pretty well insulated. Most mornings to take the chill off in the living room I would just put on a small space heater (Holmes) and with the ceiling fan on reverse, turn it on and it would circulate the heat throughout the LR, DR and kitchen in no time.
In the summer with turning on the same LR fan, and with both BR's having fans, we usually kept our A/C on 80 or 81 degrees. If I turned it to 79 it would get too cold. |
Hi Tickled Pink,
We use our ceiling fans in TV a lot. I would not want to remove one of them. |
Decisions, Decisions!
Well, it sounds like it's unanimous. DH was right! How am I EVER going to bring myself to tell him he was right and I was wrong?!? :undecided: You do know he is never going to let me forget this, don't ya?
Happinow, I wish I could use the fixture in my dining room, but I think it would be too small in comparison with my table. I guess I will just leave the lovely little chandelier for the future owners. Thanks to everyone who took time to weigh in on the subject. Much appreciated. |
Dan's Fans..
I can't wait to get one in my bathroom!!! Sweat City! :o

You might want to bring the chandelier with you and decide later if you can use it.
I once had a chandelier in the master bath and I loved it. Better safe than sorry. |
