Buying in Fernandina
 

• Visited The Villages and did the Trolley Tour. Met lots of nice people - check.
• Did a Lifestyle Preview visit. Met lots more nice people - check.
• Came back and drank the Kool-aid. Met more nice people--and some we'd met earlier - check.
• Put down a deposit on a home site in Fernandina - check!!!

We're excited about moving to TV, yet have so much to do to get our house ready to sell!

We just read the thread about the smell in Fernandina, and have some slight concerns. We had mentioned this to our realtor, and he said it was the result of drilling the well near Bonifay. He assured us the smell will dissipate, because otherwise there would be an uprising of TV residents! We trust our realtor, and feel confident we made the right decision! Does anyone have any further concerns about this that we should know about?

The important point is we're excited about our upcoming move to TV and are looking forward to meeting others, and becoming Frogs!

Welcome to Fernandina. We hope to be in around mid June.
We have visited the site a number of times inc. 2 weeks ago and all was well.
Had lunch outside at Bonifay and again all is well.
With people paying upwards of 800K (golf view) there would be an uprising.
My wife says I have a very sensitive sniffer so if somethings in the air believe me I'll know.
What street will you be on?

Hi Mike,

We enjoyed meeting you at the pool, too! We return the end of May to work with the design team for the new house. Hope to see you (and meet your wife) at the Sanibel pool then.

Now we're facing the reality of preparing to put our MO home on the market. We interviewed Realtor #1 yesterday, and won't be able to do everything she recommends. It's the anticipation of moving to TV that keeps us going. :smiley:

We have friends we met in July 2011 in the Sanibel Pool also who just told us they bought a lot in Fernandina on Mockingbird? on the golf course. Sanibel pool is turning out to be great place to meet new people.
