Fairfield Farms
Ive read some very positive reviews on this place so maybe someone can tell me how to get waited on! I made a second trip there today and went to the front, back and all around. No one offered to help me! I was directed to the cashier where I was told the clerk couldn't leave her post but she would get someone to help me. Another clerk came by and was asked to help me and she said she could not as it was her lunchtime. After looking around for another available clerk I just told them to forget it I'd find what I wanted elsewhere!
I'm a very patient person and was in no hurry but after being ignored for a half hour I decided they must not want my business! |
That's been my experience every time I've been there. I don't go there anymore, I go to TerraScape instead.

It is hard to get waited on there.
Terrascape has better customer service but I think they're a little pricier. Can't beat Home Depot and Lowes if they have what you're looking for, but for big/unusual stuff, it's harder to find. Villages Palms on 466 has better prices and service than FF, in my opinion. |
I was there once and couldn't find anyone to wait on me. Finally I found someone and asked to see the azaleas. They told me I would have to wait a half hour because the irrigation system was going on in that section. Did not return.

My husband and I went to Fairfield Farms on Sunday to purchase a palm for our front yard and the customer service was great. We dealt with them in the past and had no problems.

I use them for my lawn care and I am satisfied with the price and the service.

My wife and i have been out to fairfield twice, primarily to compare prices with other places we've visited but also to get ideas for our new landscaping.
Both times when we went we entered the lot, walked around for 30-45 minutes, and never had anyone offer a simple "may I help you?" Usually this would tick me off, but since we were "only looking," it was nice to be able to check the place out without any kind of pressure. We will end up buying a fountain/water feature from Fairfield because they seem to have the best selection. On the other hand, most of our specimen plants will come from Mansfield because we have found that they offer a wider variety at significantly better prices. |
The same thing happened to us the few times we went there. Never could find a person to wait on you even though we were there for at least 30 minutes or more. I guess they really don't need the business. A lot of other places around here that want our business.

Two years ago received a price on a not so elaborate design from Fairfield. Wanted $18,000. When I asked how we could get this down was told that they would have to eliminate some of the plants. Had the exactly the same design done by another landscaper for $4,400.

One item that can have a huge impact on landscape pricing is the maturity of the plantings. Same plant, different level of maturity (one big, one small) - does have a big effect on the price of each.
