Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome??

After 3.4 years of suffering with severe foot pain, finally received the diagnosis of Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. (I have plantar fasciitis as well) Does anyone have any information on successful treatment? Is surgery the only answer? Meeting with the Doc on Monday and would love to hear any success or unsuccessful stories before then.
