Two songs about traffic in the villages (satirical)

Get out the golf cart and polish the wheels!
She's got to be the smartest of the mobiles!
Polish the paint work and clean off the rust!
They won't see our chasis with sand, grass and dust !

And when we arrive miles ahead of the rest
Everyone will know that our golf cart is best!
They'll have to admit she's a cart you can trust
So it's Lake Sumter Square or Bust.

As we drive along Morse Blvd. come along
With an independent front suspension
And every kind of new golf cart invention
Any old thing you care to mention
As we hold the cop's attention
We'll look around with condescension
Mixed with a little apprehension
Lake Sumter Square or Bust
Lake Sumter Square or Bust

We're on our way to Lake Sumter Square
Although we've already roped our chairs
We hear the Square crowds are very pally
And we're gonna win the rally
So we're sure to be the toast of Lake Sumter Square.

Get out the golf cart and polish the wheels!
She's got to be the smartest of the mobiles!
Polish the paint work and clean off the rust!
They won't see our chasis with sand, grass, and dust.
And when we arrive miles ahead of the rest
Everyone will know that our golf cart is best!
They'll have to admit she's a cart you can trust
So it's Lake Sumter Square in my suspension
Lake Sumter Square or Bust.

Good stuff. Now you have to do one on round-abouts.:024:

That one is a challenge. Have to come up with some kind of song. "Let it be" probably would not work as a song to modify.

Not sure I want to do one about dog poop though. "Let it be" would probably work better for the pooh.

When somebody cuts you off
It's no good unless you flip him off - all the way round
Happy to see you
When you need someone to veer from you - all the way round

Some trucks are taller than your car
So you have to keep them afar
Some puddles are deeper than you can see
So you have to drive slow and avoid me

When somebody cuts you off
It's no good unless you flip him off - all the way round
Happy to see you
When you need someone to veer from you-- all the way around

Good to have a fellow traveller with you
So you can get through-- all the way around
Through the good or mean years
And for all the in between years - come what may

Who knows where this road will lead us
Only a fool could say
But if you'll let me direct you
It's for sure I'm gonna connect with you - all the way round
All the way round

So if you'll let me pass you
It's for sure I'm gonna sass you - all the way round
All the way round

I will save this one for another day though.

I am still going to have to come up with one about the pooh wars here in the Villages.

To pooh or not to pooh
That is the question.

The pooh song.

Irresponsible.
Unreliable.
Undependable, too.

Not picking up after my dog.
Where he lays some logs.
Not caring when he takes a pee.
Where he leaves spots you eventually see.

Pooh, pooh, pooh.

Letting my dog off the leash.
Running out on the golf course.
Leaving spots of the sidewalk that need bleach.
Ignoring the rules set down by the Morse.

Bored by my foolish alibis?
Not impressed by my lack of cleverness.

Pooh, pooh, pooh.

Going to Doggie Doo Run Run.
Strolling along the Square in a child buggy.
Making sure that my dog has a lot of fun.
Even though the weather may be muggy.

Unpredictable.
Impractical.
Undependable, too.

Pooh, pooh, pooh.

Letting my dog off the leash.
Running out on the golf course.
Leaving spots of the sidewalk that need bleach.
Ignoring the rules set down by the Morse.

Irresponsible
Unreliable
Undeniably true

We do not know what we do without Fumar.
Scaring the pooh out of all those who do.
He would not let the dogs go too far.
Without somehow getting to their version of a loo.

Pooh, pooh, pooh.

I could use some help with the poem/song about pooh. It does look like I have found an appropriate song to modify though. "Call me irresponsible".

I am trying to remember some of the complaints about dogs here in the Villages. Would like to get a stanza in about Fumar too.

Something along this stanza?

We do not know what we do without Fumar.
Scaring the pooh out of all those who do.
He would not let the dogs go very far.
Without somehow getting to their version of a loo.

Version I am satisfied with for life in the Villages-- the satire covering gof cart traffic, roundabouts, and the dog poo wars.
