Now that Jeb Bush has decided to endorse Mitt Romney what do you think about the likelihood that he will be on he ticket for VP? IMO, he would help Romney a great deal.

I also believe that if President Obama finds himself lagging in the polls if Jeb is onboard then we will see, Biden develop a medical issue and be replaced by Hillary who despite "not having any further political aspirations" would answer the call if her party "needs" her, thus setting her up to run in 2016 for President.

Any thoughts about this?

Well, I think the prospect, for the Democrats, of watching Joe Biden try to debate Jeb Bush would be an excruciating thought. He couldn't even stand up to Sarah Palin in their debates.

I really like Jeb, but I don't know if a Bush on the ticket helps the Republicans at this point in time, no matter his solid credentials and his obvious statesmanship. I would like to believe that you are correct that he would have a great positive effect on the Republican ticket, though.

Clinton already appears to have addressed the issue by saying she is not interested previously. And speculation is she would consider 2016. Some (of us) believe she would enhance Obama's prospects, however we also believe she is not willing to take on the stigma or prospects of being a part of a lame duck administration that she had to be used to prop up to win in the first place. Why should she risk the potential loss of the election...which would mean her being on the ballot had insufficient effect. Or why would she risk being a part of an already unpopular (to many...that relative terminology again!!) administration.

I think her strategy is to let Obama swing for himself...win or lose. Then she can if need be run against his performance, mistakes, etc. as well as the republicans in 2016.

Mr. Bush's endorsement and call for party unity were welcomed by many and immediately ignored by the childish actions of two of the candidates. The Etch A Sketch dog and pony shows were unnecessary and desperate.

I will agree that the other candidates must now take measure, determine what they want out of this, and find a graceful way to drop out. Hoping the campaign trail becomes a bit quiet the next few days, which my signify that they are talking to each other.

Doubt if you will see much Republican party unity until the Tampa convention.

Did not think that any of the Bushes wanted to get back into politics.

Etch-a-sketch Mitt will lose by a larger margin than McCain did. As of March 21 Obama is within 17 electoral votes of 270. States that are strong blue right now account for 253 EV. States that are strong red right now account for 125 EV.

Really have no idea what the Bush family wants....Jeb is VERY active in Florida politics and other ventures.

I do not think they will hold out until the convention. At least I hope not. In my opinion listen to what the other 3, make that 2 (no offense to Paul) have to say in the next few weeks, especially Santorum. See if the rhetoric gets a bit calmer and more directed at Obama. That would be a sign there is some backroom talking going on.

Posh 08: I agree with you. I also wonder how much damage the Etch a Sketch comments will create for Romney, especially since many conservatives view him as a RINO. And Jeb Bush will not run for VP. If he was going to run it would have been for President when the Republican Establishment pleaded with him to do so. I opine others can decide.

We have had too many Bushes in the White House. Sure do not need another. Last one we had ruined the country. Amazing, isn't it that the former president of the US (Junior) is scared to leave the USA because he could be arrested as a war criminal?

Etch a Sketch..no issue....just like the "3 am call" thing never became an issue...this is primary politics in both parties and suppose it will never change.

Jeb Bush is very influential in many areas, and has no need of the political arena at all, nor do I think he want any part of it except as an advisor for the party.
