The best landscaper (in my opinion!!!!)
We discovered Mansfield Landscaping through our friends in the Village of Hadley. They gave us a good review of Steve's work, so we decided to visit his showroom/nursery. We are from Minnesota and know NOTHING about palm trees! We were looking for an education and lots of information about Florida landscaping.
Steve was so great with us! He showed us many different varieties of palm trees, along with plants that do well in this area. He also has an excellent display of both stone walls and rock--you can really see the different colors so you know what you are getting. Later that same day, Steve came to our villa, came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. Three business days later, his crew showed up with a truckload of between 70 and 80 plants and the palm trees we wanted. Steve brings many, many plants to the job so you can select the ones you want--which is a real advantage, in my opinion. The crew finished the job on time, and did an outstanding job! We had both our front and back yards done, so there was a lot of dirt on our concrete. They cleaned up everything and did a great job at that also! Our job was completed a week ago, and since then, Steve has been back at least 3 times to check on what we think, how everything looks, and to make sure we are watering like we should be. His follow-up service is excellent. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/CIMG0749.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/CIMG0750.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/CIMG0752.jpg |
I's a CarGuy thing
Angie! You complained of a Oil Spil in the street? Hmmmmmm
Look at their Posted Pic. The landscaping looks nice. The stain in the road next to the storm drain is not nice. Guys I would Call Steve and not accuse but as a heads up have him check if one of his vehicles is leaking Anti-Freeze Oil ,transmission or Hydraulic fluid. Or who ever does the lawn, or the garbage truck. Something is leaving it's mark! And not my Harley. Lots of Dawn dishwashing detegent and water should help bring it up. Scrubbed in Clay Kitty Liiter or Automotive Oil absorb will help lighten up the stain. I bet you all can't tell Herv hates Oil Spills!:faint: |
The landscaping looks great!
Hey Herv.............judging by the looks of the pavement closer to the storm drain grate, I'll bet that big puddle was water! Bill :) |
Could be
I'm hoping your right. Whic hyou most usually are Bill.
Just thinking about Angies place and this? Could be AC dripping! I'm sure if the owners post its gone tomorrow its water if not its an Oil stain. They sure left their marks on our street from all the construction of our home! But then I'll get going on that and the rain and the run off in the systems and Ohhh heck I'm going to go get on the exercise bike! And work off some chicken wings! |
Not sure if that spot in the street is oil or water! I'll check tomorrow....too late to see it tonight. We live on a street with lots of work being done right now (in Haciendas of Mission Hills), but I also know there is water out there quite often (I don't think it comes from our house). We're leaving to go back home (Minnesota), so we're hoping our landscaping looks as good this fall as it does now!

Nope
Big Truck away from the curbing my only guess. And a guess it was. Proof is cart over there and see it it's gone. To far for me. 1250 miles away.

Oops.....forgot to look at that spot in the street, and now I'm in Minnesota! Oh well, if it is there in the fall, I guess we'll know it was oil!
Hope you are all enjoying the cooler weather! |
Are those Chinese Fan Palms in Back?
That's what it looks like to me, curious if they might be some sort of hybrid or whether Mansfield thought the Chinese would survive ok in the villa environment. They will get badly burned below about 22 degrees I'm told...

Landscaping
I think it will look even better in the fall when you come back. The summer rainy season should help them.

Hi EdandLinda !
I really enjoyed your photos and think everything looks great... and healthy. I especially like the color scheme you chose. It compliments your home beautifully! May you enjoy it forever! Very happy for you and Thanks for sharing  |
The landscaping looks great!
I'll still vote for McGowan's though, I think they're top notch. IMHO |
Yes, it's a Chinese fan palm. Does it get that cold? Mansfield indicated with the size of the palm, it should be fine, but we will check to see if we need to protect it during freezes. Thanks for the tip!
