Visit Begins 5/04/2012
Finally my wife and I are getting our first look at TV 5/4/ to 5/11! I've been pretty much lurking on this site for about 9 months, and I can't wait to see first-hand what a wonderful life you all have at TV. We will be leaving PA for retirement in the fall of 2013, and if TV is anything like you all say it is, we'll be joining you all in the pond. This visit we plan on checking out where we will want to buy, and the type of home. Is there a regular time and place where people on this Board get together? It would be nice to meet up with some of you.

Hi Swampy, hope your visit in May is wonderful. Please post your experiences in TV next month.

Swampy,
When you come for your visit, please look at both homes listed by Villages Properties and by Multiple Listing Service. To do that, you have to have a Villages agent as well as an "outside" agent. Neither can show each other's listings. Check on the Internet with ReMax or Tom Grizzard agency. Both are located right outside The Villages and they can tell you the same thing I am telling you. I would advise looking at both new and pre-owned homes. Pre-owned have a lot of benefits such as not having to have add-ons for basic things like downspouts or upgrades for counters, doors, etc. They also have lower bond such as mine 2 years ago was $2300 vs $20,000 for a new house at that time. I liked being in an established neighborhood (Glenbrook) without construction going on for the next 6 months or more. I was able to buy a beautiful home on a golf course knowing where the tee boxes are so I could decide if balls would come near my yard (they don't). I like being equi-distance from Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing (about 15 minutes by golf cart). I probably will not get to Brownwood much as that is quite a distance - but I have no problem with that. Best of luck. If I can be of help, just PM me. You will love The Villages and the people are very friendly. |
You knnow if you can wait when Brownwood starts building alot of people will be going to build new. there will be a lull in used home sales due to this i believe. This will probably be the best time to pick up a preowned. Of course this si just my own thoughts.

did that happen when the last one started?
I guess that would be St James |
