Golf Cart 4 Seater question
 

I am thinking about buying a gas 4 seater Yamaha cart. It is the style with the reverse seat in the rear that can lift up for storage.

I also would like to use this cart for golfing. The dealer said it is harder to use this type of cart for golf clubs.

Does anyone have an opinion about a 4 seater? My reason is for being able to carry 3 people ( mother in law) instead of taking 2 carts to places.

I have a 2008(?) Yamaha 4 seater golf cart and I bought an aftermarket club rack that I installed with a little mechanical ingenuity. Its worked out great although the cart is a little longer than most. At some of the spots in LSL I back the cart in so the club rack is over the curb instead of sticking into the street.
It is nice to have the flexibility to transport 4 people and be able to use the same cart for golf, especially if you only own one cart.

I have the answer to your problem. Leave the mother-in-law at home.:clap2:

The back seat of my cart comes out and I put the golf rack in. Easy to do.

What kind of cart do you have? This sounds like a good solution and one I'd be interested in.

It's a Yamaha gas cart with a Corvette body. The back seat comes completely out then the golf rack goes in. A couple of pins hold everything in place.

Have you been into the Villages Golf Cars store at LSL? Besides Yamaha they sell an electric cart called the Polaris Breeze that has two rear facing seats that fold up when you want to load your golf bags. I believe they had a problem with speed but I've read that they now have a way of boosting the power.

4 Passenger carts
 

Some of the Yamaha 4 passenger have bag racks that are loaded toward the seat. A real no no no! they also offer a bag rack that goes on the very back of the cart This one is very good , but very expensive (250.00) last time I heard. Sorry to hear you're consider a gas cart- They're unnecessary if you keep either cart in good maintenance. 40+ miles is a high improbability.

I have a 2010 EZGO 4 seater and the clubs fit perfectly behind the rear passenger seat. We have had 4 people and 4 sets of clubs in there going to a course. 2 people walked when we played a round and the front seat passenger held onto the fourth set of clubs. We made it work :)

I have a 2010 Yammi gas 4 pass. & get 40-41 mpg. I also have the $150.00 golf rack (from Village Carts) that is loaded towards the front seat & I HAVE NO PROBLEM using my cart on the golf course.
