Panera Lake Sumter

My wife and I played golf with another couple. We decided to go get breakfast. Panera's a Lake Sumter Landing was suggested. It was the first time and last time I will ever go there. Prices were high the layout confusing and the selection available at 10:30AM limited

I agree, not a whole lot at Panera's for breakfast unless you want a bagel or a quiche. But for soups, salads and sandwiches, I think they are great. Also, some real good breads.

Best place for soup & sandwich noon time..............or....... coffee & roll/bagel in am.

For breakfast..Too-Jays is my favorite.

If you want high prices at a Panera, come on up to central OH. The 2 stores there in TV are at least 10-15% less for what we normally get!

Sandy likes their soups, sandwiches, and smoothies. I just stick with the cinnamon crunch bagels!

Bill :)

As long as they have Bear Claws, I don't care what else they have. :duck: Plus, the Panera in The Villages is considerably CHEAPER & YUMMIER than the ones in Baltimore, Maryland.

We also love the cinnamon crunch bagels!

MGMT problem

The Panera in SS is much better managed than the one at LSL in my humble opinion. The one in LSL is managed poorly. They are usually out of the good bagels by 9 AM every day. I have tried at least 10 times to buy a loaf of sourdough bread and never been successful. I talked to a person in charge there and they said they deliberatly try to run out of everything so they don't have to waste anything. I have run a business in my life. The goal was to have product (make a profit) to sell to customers. If I sold enough a little waste was acceptable. To never have any is riduculous. The clerks at LSL will stand and have personal conversations and not even break up a conversation to wait on customers. The staff needs to be motivated. They are not. The staff needs to understand that they are in a customer service business but they do not care. On a 1 - 10 rating I would give that operation a 1. There is a lot more money to be made there. Obviously they don't care. :swear::swear::swear:

I agree about the lackadaisical attitude of the employees. Went there yesterday and had a bowl of soup with a piece of bread and an iced tea and it was $8.50! Never again!

We also found the employees(some) to be less than enthusiastic

A heart warming touch!

Went for a cup of soup one evening but also noticed a sticky bun. With a smile, she gave me the bun for free. I realize that they won't be selling it next morning but thought it was a nice touch.

Panera

I agree about the attitude of some of the cashiers at panera's at LSL.They just don't seem to have the professionalism you'd expect.I do like the cinnamon swirl bagel. On the other hand,it's not always the case and not worth getting up in arms about.More and more I find myself ignoring life's little discomforts and just move on.
