Nurseries

Wife and I visited both Village Palms and Fairfield Farms on Saturday to look for some trees and shrubs.

Can anyone shed some light as to how good (or bad) either of these may be.

Mansfield

Check out Mansfield Nursery. He advertises on TOTV. Click on his link or his fb page to see photos of his nursery. It's one of the best on the area.

Iif you call KGl Landscaping they will send a knowledgeable designer to your home & do a consult. They will take you right to the grower where all of the "other nurseries" get their plants and palms from. Kevin and Jeannie are so knowledgeable and understand that we dont know much about Florida plants or what grows well here in the Villages. Other landscapers will tell you what you want to hear just to get your money. call them at 352-347-8307

We used Citrus Palm Gardens for our landscaping and also as a nursery to purchase additional plants. We found them to be extremely knowledgable and helpful. We were looking for something a little different in landscaping..something with more of a tropical feel with lots of flowers..we found Chris who designed the plan and his crew who executed it to be very creative and professional. We visited other nurseries and found Citrus Palm Gardens to be the best!

Village Palms and Fairfield Farms are two of the better nurseries around - and yoiu pay accordingly, they're higher. Terrascape on hwy 301 is right there with them.

You can't beat Home Depot/Lowes prices if they have what you want.
But they move a lot of product and it's here today gone tomorrow.

KB is opening their own little nursery but it looks pretty ragged so far.
(near the railroad tracks in Wildwood on the 468 cut-through to 301).

Porters is out of business, they used to be a good midrange nursery.

We just used Village Palms for our landscaping and are really satisfied. Very professional to work with and show up on time. Rave reviews from the neighbors.

Fairfield Farms has several reviews on this site regarding trouble getting anyone to wait on you when you go there and this has happened to 2 different neighbors when they tried to purchase trees there. Uninformed personnel couldn't answer questions about Crepe Myrtles.

Just bought two 30 gal Crepe Myrtle Trees from Fairfield Nursery. Probably paid more, but quality is excellent. They certainly have a big nursery, with plenty of selections on practically everything. The nicest nursery I've seen around here. :BigApplause:

Has anybody used McGowen Landscaping? If so, do you know where he gets his plants and trees?

If you are looking for real healthy plants such as azaleas, philidindrums (spelling is prob wrong), boxwood and things along that line, go to the Marion market on weekends and visit the Medina's Nursery guy. He is of Mexican heritage and on the right in the open area. He will sell you 3 gallon plants for $5.00 and I have had real good results with plants I buy from him. His nursery is at 5565 CR746 E., Webster, FL 33597, Tel: (352) 617-8342
