Is he a nut or not??

Anders Behring Breivik, Norway Mass Killer, Claims 'Self Defense' As Trial Begins

This Norway mass murderer looks nuts on the surface but he certainly seems to know that what he did was evil with respect to the laws and values of his sovereign nation--Norway. He just tries to justify with some very perplexing self-defense argument based on his hatred of Muslims and their immigration's impact on Norwegian culture and society.

You see this kind of evil with the Muslim mass murderers who are motivated by similiar kinds of beliefs. Would not call most of them nuts either just murderous and evil.

I think he must be a nut; not sure what kind though.

Who cares?......

There's no punishment bad enough for this monster.

I can come up with some, though.

For those critics of capital punishment Norway as with the rest of Europe does not have capital punishment. If insanity is not found and if the article I read in connection with this case is accurate the most he can get is 21 years.

I have been following this case closely. He had all attentions of making this attack much larger and he had all intentions of beheading Norway's top leader but she left the camp shortly before the attack.

There is no question about the insanity of this act(s) but is he insane or was he just obessed with the notion that his homeland was being overtaken by the Muslim world. His belief is shared by many in Europe and while they have not acted in such a violent manner they have expressed their anger at the transformation of their homelands. This should be a harbinger for America but it won't be because liberals will claim prejudice and America won't be able to control this situation to protect America's interests.

I opine and you decide

Muslim, anti-muslim or any variety mass murderer. It doesn't make any difference.

The media, and some of us, get sucked into this scary idea that people can use their political or religious beliefs to justify horrific acts, and that HE MIGHT GET OFF because of that defense. It doesn't make any difference.

The media, and some of us, are preoccupied with 'whether he's nuts', because if that becomes the focus of the case, HE MIGHT GET OFF. It doesn't make any difference.

In fact, he may or may not be insane. It doesn't make any difference.

He committed multiple murders, the highest crimes prohibited by a sovereign state. He will be tried, convicted and incarcerated in a prison or hospital. That's all that makes any difference.

The very best thing that could happen would be that no one would mention his name, motives, or beliefs ever again.

That's my intention.
