Looking for a recommendation for Garage Screen Door Contactor

Would appreciate any input for a reputable garage screen door installer. We live in Buttonwood and are particularly interested in one that "folds" sideways. We had that type on our last house and prefered it to the "roll up" type. Thanks for your responses.

Romac

Romac does the sliding screens. They are located off Rolling Acres, across from the Sun building.

I'd be interested in hearing why you would perfer the folding type over the roll up. We're considering having having screens and so far we are leaning towards the type you find at this site: Thumper's Retractable Screen Doors.

Our neighbor has one and have watched it in action for some time now!

We had a slider at our last house and found it was very handy to just open one section to go outside & two sections to pull cart out. So let's say you wanted to take your dog for a walk you could just slide one section open and close it right behind you instead of having to wait for it to roll all the way up and then all the way down just to have to repeat the process all over again in ten minutes when you return. You could just leave it up (roll up kind), while your out on a short walk but then every passerby sees your garage wide open and the critters can sneek in while your gone. We found that we left the garage door open with the screens closed almost all the time allowing a nice breeze to flow through the house even on the warmest of days. It also allowed the attic to vent better. I would definately recommend solar screen, not so much for the heat factor but for privacy. The only time anyone can see in your garage is at night if you leave a light on. Last but not least we must come and go at least ten times a day. I can't imagine the motor on an automatic one would last very long.

I too have wondered about the retractable vs. the sliding doors, I think you have convinced me. Thanks. Ed

I would highly recommend John Hill Aluminum. John has done our house and many of our neighbors. Very honest. He can be reached at 352-753-1701.

We have the roll up. We didn't get the slider because if you leave the house and you have the sliders are you leaving your home unlocked? My retractable is like a garage door. When it's closed someone can't just walk in.

Is there something about the sliders I don't know.

Oh.. .and we used Michelle's Hide Away. They did a great job.

Michelle's father, Roger, did our roll up garage door screen and front door screen. She now has the business since Roger passed away. Had them out here for additional remotes and for some repair to our retractable screen door at the front door. I highly recommend them.

i STRONGLY suggest that you include thumper in your consideration of your slider! thumper has done numerous projects for us and we found their price, product, clean-up, service and desire to make us happy to be the best when we did our planning.

we love our slider for the same reasons as you do.
