Would anyone know when it was built/started? Thanks

If you read the signs around town you'll see the town is about 150 years old. Some great stories on those signs, take some time and read them.

Sumter Landing and Market Square actually opened in 2004.

There was a preview for all residents in Aug 2004 before the official opening. It was built in 18 months, start to finish.

Did you know that the square is owned by Sumter Landing Community Development District and The Villages has an agreement to use the square 365 days a year?
