I agree, there is some luck in a 300. You can throw a pretty good shot and not get the carry. Hole in one seems like more luck than skill , but if you are hitting it at the pin you have a lot better chance!!!:laugh: I've been doing both for close to 50 yrs..Never had either. I looked at the bowling alley's web sites in TV and seems like you have lots of good bowlers there. Numerous 300's.

In both bowling and golf, modern technology has changed the game.
I golf- larger- metal woods, better balls (no more smily's cracks) hybrids and specialty clubs for every imaginable shot. Try playing golf using "WOODS" with a small face.
In bowling , a bowler used to use his own skill to make the ball curve toward the headpin. Nowadays, the balls have weights to make the ball break for you. And let us not forget...bowlers use two balls now. One for strike and another for spares. This was not allowed years ago. I have wanted to join a bowling league but not sure if I can accept the changes.
