Who cleans your grill?

Do you have someone come and clean your grill? Who does it, what type of grill do you have and how much do they charge? Thank you.

I have not realized that the task of cleaning one's grill could be hired.

I just made a point on another thread about learning new things on here.

Sweetie...or me....have always been the grill cleaners.

Grill Cleaning

Wow...are there REALLY people who clean grills? I've never heard of that before but my husband would be a happy man if he found out this was true!

I clean it myself, using a steel brush, when you are finished grilling and it has cooled down, (best after dinner is finished) use the brush to scrub down the grill surface. Many of the grill plates used on grills can be removed and cleaned inside. I do this monthly to keep the grill surface clean. If you are grilling with any type of BBQ sauce it is important to do a good cleaning after use removing the sauce from the grill surface. Excess grease drains to the trap normally hung below the grill. Check it and empty it periodically to prevent a bigger mess if it runs over (uncovered grills can allow water to also find it's way into the grease trap). With the grill plates removed, you can lightly run the brush over the gas jets (gas grills) to clear any jet holes that might have become clogged to ensure even heating. Taking a rag you can also wipe out any debris found on the very bottom of the grill where the grease pan is located. Easy maintenance to keep your grill clean and healthy.

My Grill is stainless, so monthly I wipe all the stainless surfaces with a stainless cleaner to maintain the nice shiny surface. Hope this helps.

In addition, I have suggested on other posts, the purchase of a clear plastic cover (we got ours at the local mattress store) to discourage "critters" (they like to hide under dark covers)....We clean ours after every use, after initial scrub with brillo, slap it in the dishwasher!

Never even thought of hiring someone to clean a grill. I just spray it with Pam before I use mine and wipe it down when cool. Easy peazy.

Easy way to clean BBQ grill, is fully cover the grilling rack with tin foil. Light your BBQ, turn on high. It will smoke like crazy but will burn all of the fat, grease BBQ sauce etc.

But you have to be real careful if you have not cleaned your grill for a long time you may have a big build of grease and oil, therefore if you use the above method it can be dangerous. You can have fire shooting out the sides of the BBQ. In a case of big build you would not cover the entire grill with tin foil, just partial, then turn on your BBQ.

Once you have completely cleaned your BBQ it becomes real easy to clean if you do this method every time you light up your BBQ. It will smoke heavy for a few minutes, then stop smoking. You then know the BBQ is ready for action. The grill cleans real easy now with a wire brush.

Cleaning it the first time make sure the BBQ is a good distance from your house. Driveway the middle of your back yard.

Crap you have to clean a grill? My thoughts are every year just sell it and buy new saves the question of who cleans the grill

chuckinca 04-22-2012 11:34 AM

The butler, or sometimes the parlor maid.
