Could We Ever Be So Lucky?

Can you ever imagine the leadership of our government doing something like this? Just for failing to do what they were elected to do?

Give up those sweet, powerful, high-paying jobs? Who would do the bidding of the lobbyists?

Could we ever be so lucky?

A news release from today's Wall Street Journal...
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and his cabinet resigned after failing to reach agreement on reducing the country's budget to meet European guidelines.

The country's information service said Mr. Rutte had met with Queen Beatrix and she had accepted his resignation, asking him to tend to pressing matters of state with a caretaker government for the time being. Mr. Rutte is due to address parliament Tuesday afternoon to discuss interim budget cuts and schedule new elections.

Talks over measures to slash the government's budget deficit collapsed over the weekend after seven weeks of negotiations, raising questions about the future commitment of one of the euro zone's foremost proponents of fiscal stringency to a German-led austerity agenda.

Over 3 years of NO BUDGET at all.....a blue ribbon panel thrown to the side and nobody quits...you have a point and a alternative plan, albeit a bit radical not even discussed EXCEPT as noted by a poster where it fits politically !!!

you have a point
