Cart Paths & GPS Navigation

As many of you know, I have been working on getting the multimodal trails into Google Maps for some time. I'm happy to report that the paths are now accessible via GPS routing from your iPhone, iPad or Android phones. In all cases, you must use Google Maps... either the app on Android or Safari on the iDevices. Of course, you can do routing via your computer, as well.

Be sure to turn on the "bicycle" layer and type your destinations. In most cases, Google will route you via multimodal paths or on streets where carts are allowed.

Be advised....This is NOT 100%, as Google routing for bicycles is still in beta. It should get better, over time. For my testing, it was better than 90% accurate, although it routed me the long way around at times. But, if you don't know where you're going, it will [at least] get you to your destination...

Enjoy.....

Bless your heart. I am in the midst of planning our first visit and looking at houses to rent in June. I just turned this feature on in Google maps which I use all the time. It looks great. Thanks so much.

Thanks a lot!

Got here yesterday and plan on taking a cart ride today. GPS will be very helpful.
I managed to find Cody's without it.

memason,

Wow. thanks. I just pulled this up on my iPhone. Even though I am not in TV now, I found all the paths. Can't wait to try it in TV. We'll be moving permanently later this year.
