Anyone Know How to Disconnect Pool Alarm?

How is it done?

Someone told me there is a battery in the wall switch that can be removed and others said its in the garage.

We want to open the doors on nice days and can't because the pool alarm sounds.

We did purchase the Turtle Pool Alarm in case our dogs fall in. They'll wear a small turtle on their collars 24/7 and if it gets wet (accidentally) the alarm receiver in the house will go off.

Not saying we'll do it since we have 6 grandchildren; just wondering.

One of the sales agents at an open house said that the electricians wire these alarms (because of code) in a way that they cannot be disabled without affecting something else in the house. I haven't verified this, maybe someone in TOTV can shed some light.

We just removed the battery in the wall switch, and unplugged it in the garage.

Where is it plugged in the garage or is it on a circuit breaker?

Ours was plugged into the outlet in the ceiling, where one of the garage doors is plugged in. The wires are hidden in the ceiling; we didnt know whether we had the right plug until we tried it.

Thanks for the info.....when you say " pool alarm" do you mean the sound that goes off when you open the doors of the house to the lanai? Or when someone falls in the pool?

I was referring to the alarm for the lanai doors.

Pool alarm

We recently disconnected out pool alarm. There are two places....one in the garage overhead where the light to the garage door is on the ceiling......it looks like a battery pack, and the other by the sliders. I believe there is a battery in the one by the sliders you have that you to take out. Makes a world of difference. Nothing else in the house is effected.

Happinow is correct, that is what we did also. That alarm is so high pitched, for just us living in the house there was no reason to leave it connected.

Our pool alarm is also connected to the two windows in our bedroom that are under our cage. We couldn't even open those windows without the alarm going off. I don't have a pool, but do have a spa and was happy to have the alarm when our grand kids were young.

Great info and will be done right away after closing.

My pool alarm is turned on and off with a breaker in the electric panel in the garage. No batteries or any wires to disconnect. I turn it on at night when the grand kids are here. And off the rest of the time.
