Of course we are not seeding

race or class warfare in this country.

"Attorney General Eric Holder, the IRS, and the liberal lawyers at the ACLU will brief several hundred pastors in the African American community on how to participate in the presidential election -- which the Congressional Black Caucus chair expects will help President Obama's campaign."

"The CBC chairman is confident that "President Obama is going to get 95 percent of the [African American] vote," and wants to keep that turnout high. "We want to let them know that there is a theological responsibility to participate in the political process, at least in the Judeo-Christian tradition," he said."

"However, The minister sounded overjoyed that minority births outnumber white births in America, according to recent US Census reports. Given the news, Farrakhan noted that white people will soon “be the minority in their own country that they took from the native people.” He also projected that minorities will soon “become governor of every state.”

Do you recall those crazy Republicans mixing religion with politics...those bad guys.

Making sure that everyone that's eligible to vote gets to vote is the patriotic thing to do. I'm sure the Republican black caucus will also be organizing get out the vote efforts. Demographics are what the US Census correctly reports.

HOWEVER if they speak to religious groups and tell them how to handle this from the pulpit is all wrong or am I misunderstanding all the posts from the primary ???????

In the Republican primaries, didn't many of the Southern churches preach how their congregations should vote? The answer is YES. Don't you think that Mitt will get almost all the Mormon vote? The answer is YES. This was not just done on a separate church by church preaching but the Republican machine went to all the ministers and told them what to say.

If my minister ever mentioned how to vote in his sermon - or in any event at church, personally, I would go somewhere else right away for church.

I am a bit confused....are you defending the black pastors ? Are you defending now the southern churches ?

And PLEASE, not saying not true, but PLEASE gve me a link to validate this quote....thanks

" the Republican machine went to all the ministers and told them what to say."

Also, you did read this in the article right...

[B]"They will let them know who to regard as the bad guys, though (hint: not Democrats)."

Any religious person who in the church tries to tell me who to vote for should be jailed. It is against the law. Republican, democrat I don't care. People go to church not to hear some priest bad mouth a candidate or tell them who to vote for. Better yet take away their tax exempt status and see how fast they shut up. To me they are just another group I'm paying for.

I am not going to waste electrons by giving you links to everything I say just so you can try and turn them back on me in a schoolyard bullying way. Take it or leave it. I could not care less.

Not saying this is you on this item, but I do not like folks simply making things up. That is child like. If you can back up an accusation and that is what it was, fine......but you just cannot come on here and make accusations with no backup. You surely can give opinions but you made a serious and unsubstantiated accusation.

You could be right and if you are I want to see where you read it so I can also know, If you cannot back up accusations then dont make them...opinions fine...but not when you accuse !

I was under the impression that this is the way this forum works...if it changed I was not aware !!!

The preachers are not being instructed to tell people who to vote for, but how to vote - what forms of photo ID they need and where to get them. I'm sure the Republican Black Caucus is having similar discussions.

I am embarassed I did not know this, but there is no PARTY AFFLIATED black caucus only the black caucus......for all of congress. I was checking on any Republican affliated group of that nature.

This is from 2010 but you get the idea...

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Congressional Black Caucus says it will allow two recently elected black Republicans to join the group if they ask.

The all-Democratic caucus had wavered over the issue since Tim Scott of South Carolina and Allen West of Florida were elected last week. Chairwoman Barbara Lee had pointed to the group’s liberal mission statement as a potential point of conflict."

Black caucus says it will welcome Republicans | theGrio

So as the link I supplied hinted, this is strictly about Democrats and they admit how it will be presented.

Of course there's no Republican Black Caucus because there are only two African American Republican members of the house and zero African American Senators. Cong Tim Scott (R-SC) and Cong Allen West (R-FL) could causus in the cloak room.
