Killing Osama bin Laden was very important symbolically because of his image in extreme and not so extreme Islamic political circles. He was behind the 9/11 attacks in the minds of most radical Muslims.

He was not important. BTW, President Obama had almost nothing to do with his kill. All he did was nod OK, all the credit goes to the HUMIT and the military that did the actual job. Not one politican was ever in danger of getting hurt and if anything had went wrong, all of them would have an excuse of why they (the politicans) where not at fault. Get real.

What is the President going to do about the Doc that help in finding OBL? Trumped up charges and he (The President) is still willing to give them billions of our dollars, that we don't have, to help them. Get real.

So, President Obama only had to give a nod. If you really believe that you are so out of touch with how Washington works, perhaps you should be posting in the Gardening section. Wow! You (and most of us) couldn't handle his job for one day! Let's remember Bush ignored Clinton's warnings, memo's he received, and hightailed it out of Tora Bora when Bin Laden was in his reach, because he had to go back and fight his daddy's war.

There were many lives at stake, political implications with Pakistan, standing up against some of his own cabinet members... Oh yes, I forgot... all he had to do is nod. Get a grip!!!

I, for one, applaud President Obama and will vote for him in November. Don't care what his middle name is (wow, is that old hat!) don't care what his religious beliefs are, don't even care if he was born in America (although it's been proven over and over again that he was!!!!) I'm voting for him because he is a man of vision, a man of integrity, and a great leader. Probably the most intelligent President we've had in a very long time. :ho:

Ignoring history -- and the real facts is a hobby of yours and most conservatives. For example, Regan wasn't the "God" the right has made him out to be. He was an actor. And a good actor at that! He definitely knew his audience and knew how to work a room. Nice man, but an actor. His "trickle down" theory became a drought for the middle class. A monumentally bad concept!!! And the right wants to try this again??? Regan raised taxes 11 times while in office. (Oh really? Let's just ignore that.) Baby George fought the wrong war, cost this country billions, thousands of lives, and escalated this financial disaster. (Oh, really, lets just ignore that!) OK, let's just blame the black guy with the Harvard Degree, President of the Harvard Law Review, Constitutional Professor, for having the audacity to become our President! Two days ago Mitt Romney said that anybody running for president should have three years business experience. How did that work out with George W Bush? Wasn't he a businessman extraordinaire?

Just thought it was very funny that Romney and this breed of sheep share the same name. Not sure whom I will vote for in 2012 yet but I also would not care about a President's religious beliefs (Romney's or Obama's not Santorum though as he was way out there), nor his birthplace all that much, nor middle name though Hussein is a very common last name in Muslim countries.

I do not see Romney's religious beliefs getting in the way of his politics at all. They never have before this. He accommodates them to fit his political position.
