Premium Privileges

There is probably a thread here somewhere, which explains the cost and benefits of a premium membership pass for golf and pool upgrades. Appreciate your input as one of the regular posters will steer me in the right direction.

I have friends who will be visiting for a month. Does anyone know if upgraded passes can be obtained for guests? Just asking ..... :)

It is called a priority membeship and information can be found at Golf The Villages.
If a priority member your guests will benefit in championship course green fees and they can join you at the country club pools.

Priority member

Another advantage is (I think) a priority membership provide a big advantage when getting Tee times? ie a priority member gets 0 points and a non -member gets 6 points. The person with the few points have the 1st choice? When you get a tee time you get a point and thus you have the advantage for 6 tee times? Points reset every week.

This example of course if there were only two people requesting tee times to over simplify.

Is this right?

Tee times

I read it at least twice to come up with the conclusions I did in my post.

Just want to know if they are correct....

You may wish to review placement points section again. Did you have your Jets glasses on? They may be affecting your perspective :)

There are two types of points, placement and reservation. Placement points are assigned by the type of member, reservation points are a factor of how much you have played/canceled.

For championship:
Priority member 1
Priority guest 2
Resident member 6
Resident guest 7

Tee times are assigned to th egroup with the lowest placements points first before ever looking at reservation points.

A foursome of 4 priority members gets a tee time ahead of any group not made up of 4 priority members NO MATTER how much they have played because their placement points are lower.

It is important to note that even priority guests have preference over residents for tee times.
For executive courses, there is no priority membership, but because of placement points, it can be more difficult to bring a guest in high season.

tee tiem system

Yes Alan I agree with you. I guess I oversimplified what seems to be a very complicated system. At least I get the gist.

So in summary if you play a lot and want to play where and when you want, it would behoove you and your buddies to have a priority membership.
And yes it saves you a few dollars for some beers when you play the championship courses.

I should start a poll of golfers who play championship courses on a regular basis and have a priority membership. In due time...

There are a couple of other threads where folks break down the cost. The reduced green fees/trail fee included more than pays for the priority membership for my wife and I. We typically only play championship twice a week, but that is a savings of $60/week in high season (Jan - Apr).
