Sod Grass area
I may want do a lot of planted areas in the front by the street and sides of drive also rear around the lanai.
I read a while ago that a certain % of the sod needs to retained, is that correct? If so how is it calculated, how are planted areas used if at all in the equation. Or a link to the rules or regs. |
You really want to work that hard? :yuck:
|
Haaaa, it's less work than grass ;)

Go to 2.0 Covenants & Restrictions Then 2.7 It reads 51% is to be sod. http://www.districtgov.org/images/De...206/S6-105.pdf |
thanks,
kinda interesting it says the yard area visible from the roadways. So if your backyard isn't visible from the street no sod is needed if I understand that part. But that link is for designer units, but it led me in the right direction ie: covenants & restrictions. They are different though for different home series, in cottage units there is no % stated. see 197 So you need to check your specific units restrictions |

http://www.yourdictionary.com/sod Edit: never mind. After reading the restrictions is says sod, not grass. In other words, they require instant full lawns! |
An article on page 17 of the June 2012 POA bulletin informs us of a new law that allows us to incorporate "Florida Friendly" plants as part of our 51% "sod". Here's the link:
