Don't believe so; regional rec center such as Lake Miona, Colony Cottage, etc. do have WIFI!

Bill-n-Brillo 06-14-2012 09:03 PM

You'll need a logon ("Golf ID" on the system - also shown on a Resident ID card) and password to access the WiFi at the regional rec centers. We were given our IDs and passwords at our closing.

Bill :)

Does anyone know about Haciendas of Mission Hills rec center for wireless? Thanks for your replies.

There is a list of locations at the bottom of the following PDF document: http://www.districtgov.org/images/wapterms.pdf

WiFi provided by TV for access by residents is only available at the regional rec centers.

Refer to this map for the locations of the various regional rec centers:

*** I stand corrected - read Skyguy's post after posting mine. WiFi is apparently available at 3 of the Village Rec Centers as well as the Regional Centers. Sorry - my bad!

Bill :)

No need to apologize Bill. We all do our best to help where we can (well... most of us do anyway) and we all are affected by that time gap banshee that just loves to catch us. I'm just glad I got a rare opportunity to beat you to the information for a change! :a20:

gerryann 06-14-2012 09:36 PM

Thank you both!!!

Let's add to the list Barnes & Noble, even if they are not a Village center. I'm sure their are other locations around The Villages, like Panera's for example!

Villageshooter 06-14-2012 10:32 PM

U can add McDonald's to the list and you can set in the parking lot in your cart and use it... I was at a computer club meeting this week and was told that wireless was coming to the entire villages , the hold up is the increase in monthly fees that we now pay, the plan was to roll the wireless fee into the mandatory health care that be required of all villagers. It was to rolled out by now but economy going south really shot holes in the master plan. So hang in there it's on the way, there is a generation that will demand wireless that will have the knowledge to exploit the Internet to its fullest. Not just sending email of the grandkids , or tryin to figure out how to make movies of the lady's quilting lunch.....

Dunkins Donuts at Spanish Springs has sign in their store -- free wifi. Also Denny's on 441 has free wifi.

I was amazed that Lowes on 441 has complimentary wi-fi. I used it to do product research on the smart phone before making a purchase. Sometimes my wife stays in the car, and still picks up the signal in the parking lot.
