Roger Clemens found not guilty

As much as I like Roger as an athlete, and a superb pitcher, I don't know if I agree with that verdict.

Take a look at him early in his career, compared to what he looked like toward the end.

He is HUGE compared to when he first started.

Same with Barry Bonds, the poster boy for HGH use.

:agree:

There's no way anyone will get me to believe he didn't use HGH.

As a long time Yankee fan, I said a long time ago that I wouldn't be surprised if he was using. He was found not guilty but he is not innocent. JMHO

I agree with the above. Roger got away with something. The verdict was total BS.

:agree: totally.

Having been on several juries, and watching OJ, and others, I have found that there is a big difference between "innocent" and "not guilty."

A total waste of gvt. money trying to prosecute cases like this.

Why did this become the concern of Congress and Sen. Mitchell's investigative report in the first place?

Did Congress get involved in Michael Jackson or other Hollywood druggies' business world?

:agree: How much taxpayer's money was spent on this?

Justice has been served.

A quick search estimates are between 2-3 million dollars.

I kind of got a perverse pleasure, if you will, with the government going after a private citizen in a case that had no impact on the entity who was bringing the case, and losing spectacularly.

I am getting the feeling our government couldn't convict anyone of anything. I fail to see why it is important to try to discredit a sports figure and spend upwards of 5 to 6 million trying to do it and failing. Sounds like to me that someone in our justice department has egg on their face and can't put their ego behind and move on to things that actually matter. Let's see, how many times can someone be declared not guilty and have to defend themselves against pointless charges. Oh, he supposedly lied to a congressional committee. I suspect the AG lying to congress won't ever be brought to trial, let alone be charged and recharged. Oh gosh, that is another circumstance to sweep under the carpet.

OJ Simpson, Roger Clemens....who's next?

collie1228 06-22-2012 06:16 PM

The rate of unsolved murders, assaults, rapes and other violent crimes in this country is very large. There are a LOT of murderers, rapists, etc. running around free the USA, and we are worrying about Roger Clemens, who allegedly lied to Congress? LIED TO CONGRESS? You have probably come across a murderer running free in your lifetime - in fact, you may well have run into one (or more) in the last couple of months, and didn't even know it. And Clemens was found not guilty of a ridiculous "crime", by a jury in a court of law sanctioned by our constitutional system? Shouldn't we worry about things worth worrying about . . . . .?

Equating a person who may have lied about taking banned substances with a person who almost everyone believes got away with double murder, not to mention his current confinement...................................WOW
