Koyame Now Open
The Gourmet Club's website says that the new Chinese restaurant Koyame Asian Express in TV is open already. Sounds great too! Today's paper says that opening is still pending. Someone should tell The Daily Sun.
Has anyone eaten there yet? How does it compare to Cheng's and China Gourmet III in Colony Plaza? Skip |
Where is it?

Koyame sounds Japanese. Are you sure it is a Chinese restaurant?
|
It's chinese, Japanese and Singaporese. It's Asian Fusion.

We went to Koyame tonight and really enjoyed it. My husband had Mongolian Beef and I had Shrimp Curry. Both of us thought our meals were delicious. I also like that we could "eat in" at a booth. We were there around 5:00 and most people were coming in for take out. I will definitely return.

Had lunch there today -- very nice, good food -- we will go back. |
My husband and i have eaten there many times since they opened. The food is very good probably the best in The Villages as far as that type of food. We tried to go again saturday early evening and they were packed they had a line out the door.

This is where Fratelli Pizzuti Pizza used to be and now close by to Whole Earth Pet Supply and the Florida Blood Center place. |
We finally got around to trying Koyame Asian Express. FANTASTIC! Martin, the owner, is terrific and his staff cannot be beat.

Great lunch special (advertised on the Paper ). Great Food (Chinese & Thai). Sit Down tables or take out. Fast turnover when order is taken .
Wok & roll! |
If this is the best one around, I guess we won't be trying many others!
We went there on 7/13 for lunch to try it out. We got Beef Fried Rice (they don't have normal pork fried rice), a PuPu platter and General Tao's chicken. The beef fried rice was soggy, seemed to be more steamed than fried - not like any fried rice we have ever had and not very tasty. The PuPu platter was "unusual", none of the stuff we normally get in a pupu platter in New England. The General Tao's chicken was tasteless and the broccoli with it was not even warm and almost raw. The service on the other hand was excellent. |
You may want to try the Chinese restaurant on Southern Trace. It has the Buffet as well as take out . It's very popular and does a vigorous business. It is called the China Buffet .
