How much rain?

I am up north for a couple of weeks and am wondering how much rain we got in Pennecamp (Markridge Loop) and wind damage in the area. Trying to follow the weather from here doesn't provide any details for our area and the Daily Sun hasn't posted anything online since Monday. Can anyone give me a snapshot pls? Thanks!

I would guess it's somewhere around 10"+ by now, with more falling. All the golf courses are closed today.

Here are some stats for Virginia Trace showing stats for the month at that station:

Weather Station History | Weather Underground

It's not Pennecamp but it's in the vicinity.

You can play around with all the associated buttons/links and squeeze out all kinds of data. There are also various other reporting stations in the area.......and all over the country!!

All I know is, a few weeks ago, I could see the weeds growing at the bottom of the pond behind my house. Now, the water level has risen probably 3 or 4 feet (my guesstimate) and has surrounded a few trees that were nearest the pond. (Thankfully Villages property). They have been watering the golf courses constantly during all this rain to relieve the pressure in the ponds, much appreciated. I can see the water level going down in the past 24 hours.

We did get a tremendous amount on Sunday during the day and mostly at night, kinda scary. Its still raining today but not a downpour. Don't expect to see the sun for at least another day or two. Oh well, life in the tropics.

To the best of my knowledge, we received 12 to 15 inches of rain, but no damage to houses or property anywhere. There were a few sink hole problems but again that is to be expected in Florida. Winds were not a problem at all. The rains were your traditional Florida downpours only they have lasted a lot longer. Unless your house was the exception, you should not have anything to worry about. Enjoy ur vacation.

Thanks to all for your input. The link provided by Bill=n-Brillo was espec helpful. I knew something was amiss when the online version of the Daily Sun Monday said total rainfall in TV was 0.375 "!! Amazing that their online news is so skimpy and all marketing oriented.

Mallory Hill

Mallory Hill near Murphys Estate/Odell had 8.8 inches. This info provided by my neighbor's trusty rain gauge.

Thanks Bill! I didn't know we had our own weather underground page for Virginia Trace.

You're welcome, Judy!

We live on Markridge Loop and the rain gauges at our neighbor's said 9.8 inches.
No wind damage from what we've seen on Markridge. If you'd like us to check your house with a walkaround, we'd be happy to. We're at 2170.
