When U met offline

After going back & forth in heated and/or friendly discussions on this forum, when U finally meet that person -

do they look like U imagined?

Do they talk the same way they use the key board?

During my visits to TV, I have had a chance to meet a few people from TOTV. I really had no preconceived ideas about what anyone would look like.

In July I'm getting together with a snowflake/pre-frog and 2 gonnabees who all live in the Chicago area. I'm looking forward to it immensely as I must for now live vicariously through their TV experiences.

We had the pleasure of meeting PTurner for dinner one evening along with her hubby. She was just like I had imagined her. A big smile and a huge appetite. The only difference I noticed was when she typed she seemed taller :a20:

I'm the snowflake/pre-frog! I can't wait to meet the three of you also. I have been wanting to do something like this for quite a while. Amazing to be able to meet people in my neck of the woods who have the same desire to live in TV as we do.

Since a number of folks use a photo (Kathie, Gracie), I walked right up and gave them both a hug at Crispers in May. Didn't meet any others that I'm TOTV friends with, or communicated with through the forum. I think we all look a little different, but Gracie and Kathie are as pretty in person as their picture on TOTV. Everyone was very nice and it was so easy to make new friends at Crispers. I look forward to attending the monthly gatherings all the time. Super, super people!! A lot of them "taulk funnnny"! :a20: Strange they said I had an accent! :jester:

And I am one of the gonnabe's as soon as I start my build in Sept! I too am SO looking forward to meeting you and Schaumburger!! We'll report back to the masses afterwards! Maybe after this one we can seek out other northern IL TOTV friends who are home for the summer...

No one will have that problem with me! I am happily vertically challenged. :icon_wink:

rhsgypsylady 06-29-2012 08:18 AM

Short Stack

I am also vertically challenged - been 4'11" since I was 12 years old so everyone is tall to me. When I met Kathie and Gracie they both look exactly like their picture, not younger and not older. And they are both very, very nice. I have been here 2 months and am now a nowbe and look forward to meeting wannabes and gonnabes when you arrive! :a040:
