Search out "room darkening shades or curtains" I use them in my RV.

Take bulb out of streetlight........

Custom full window shutter, top to bottom.

Check out Daniel's Installation, 352-454-4823. Pricey, but a great above-average product that also helps keep the heat out....

Consider it a free night light.

Google "sleep mask". Lots cheaper than window shades and/or tinting.

I would look into buying a blind to fit the transom window. I have a half moon window in my bedroom and have done the same. Works well

Up North in situations like this, the electric company that owned the street light would mount a little shade on the light itself to block the light that would otherwise light up your window.
Dunno if they do that here but it's well worth a phone call or two to find out who 'owns' the streetlight and if they will do that.
I know that it'd drive me nuts, good luck and all that.

I worked for a Electric co up north and we put shades on the house side all the time. I think I saw it done in TV somewhere, but don't remember where. Contact the county or district office where you live for help.
You may want to consider Plantation shutters. We back to a Rec ctr and they block the parking lot lights. Plus you can control the amout of light you want. We used 48hr Blinds and are very happy with them. Cost to do every window in a designer ranges from $3200 -$3900. Depends on # of windows and size. You could do just the room in question.:MOJE_whot:

We just put in 3 " blinds in house which were not inexpensive and wouldn't want to have to throw that large one out and spend again for an entire plantation shutter treatment.
We will have to contact someone. I just wonder if it is a TV electric or I guess I should call SECO?
