Does anyone know where we can take household batteries to recycle? Waste mgt. wants $19.95 for a recycle box to send in batteries. When we lived in Michigan we could take them to a local hardware store or the library for recycling. Also is there a place you can take the new energy light bulbs for recycling?

Hi delima - I don't know about the batteries, but here in CT I take our used light bulbs (the new squiggily kind) to Home Depot - they have a bin right near the returns desk.

Lady Lake Recycling/Dump
 

Lady Lake has an excellent, clean and well organized recycling/dump. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays. They take everything and I do mean everything, even hazardous waste. Take 466 towards 441. Turn right at the light at Rolling Acres Road, past driving range on the left hand side, continue for maybe two miles and over on the left hand side there is a driveway indicating Lady Lake Recycling Station. Couple of really nice guys work there and they will help you. If someone asks if you live in Lady Lake - well yes you do within The Villages!

Thanks for the info . I will use the recycling center in lady lake. I couldn't see paying waste management 19.95 for a shipping box for batteries and another 19.95 for another shipping box for light bulbs and sending it through the mail.plus they said it was only good for one year and in one year I don't have that many batteries or light bulbs.:$:

what about office max or what ever is close. they take batteries at home
