We did it! Lightning Rods!

We decided to install Lightning Rods on our new home in Sanibel. We thought about it, comparing the pros and cons. We lived in South Orlando for 11 years without lightning rods. But the terrain behind our house was much different there.....we had a huge conservation area behind us with large trees, but here we have open space and a retention pond.

So, we made the decision to do it. Pat Rafferty installed them. He is a funny Irishman who will talk all day.....but he worked very hard and the lightning rods look great. Our next door neighbor also used him.

If you are interested, please PM me, and I will give you his phone number.

Come on, summer storms! We are ready!

Congrats-I think that's a wise decision. I just had lightning protection along with surge protectors installed by Central Lightning in Orlando. They are UL listed and have done several homes in TV. They use all copper components, no aluminum. I think it's wise money spent since I plan on living here for the next 20 years (maybe 30).
