Eye Doctor

My wife is looking to get a complete eye exam to determine if she needs new glasses or not. We haven't been to an eye professional since arriving and we could use some help. Has anyone had a good experiance with any eye clinic??
Thanks

I have glaucoma and have to go for quarterly check ups. I like Dr. Elmallah at Ocala Eye at Laurel Manor.

Ram Eye Care, 1503 Buenos Aires Blvd, Bldg. 170, The Villages. 751-6099.
Both Mr. Mac9 and myself have been seeing Dr. Ramchander for over 6 years and are very pleased.

Just curious - when you visit these eye doctors, how long do you actually spend with the doctor? My husband and I just had eye exams at Mid-Florida Eye and after having the technicians do all the checking (better one, or better two?. . . ) the doctor came in, looked into my eye with a light, and said everything was OK. Although that was nice to hear, I had to ask if there was a prescription for new glasses - did my eyes change from last year? Only at that point did he mention I could pick up a prescription on my way out --- and that it hadn't changed too much. I wasn't impressed.

Is this typical?

I think you must be prepared, when visiting any doctor, with questions that you want answered. Time is money to them and if you don't ask, they will move on.
My doctor at Ocala Eye in TV will spend as much time as needed to answer my questions. Talking about golf or the weather, not so much. I am satisfied with my care.

Dr. Morris at Ocala Eye is very thorough. When he comes into the examining room, he reads over all the results from the tests the technicians performed, does additional eye exams, sits and talks with you and asks if you have any questions to discuss. Your eyeglass prescription is handed to you directly before you leave the room. I have never felt rushed.
