Need advice on interior solar shades???

Has anyone used solar shades on all interior windows(not only the stackable sliders)? I am concerned about privacy issues and also heard that there is a gap on either side of the shade.

At night with the light on, when people look in your windows, they will see your shadow(s) with your solar shades. As for gaps, you can have them installed so the shade doesn't sit inside the window but overlaps the window a little. This will avoid the gap.

What is a solar shade?

Solar shades are usually installed on the lanai. I really like them but I guess there is a gap if they are mounted inside.

We have black out shades in the bedrooms, no one can see in and keeps the light out.

We have vertical shades in our lanai and there are no gaps. They slide across from one end to the other and there is a solid metal piece on the end that goes into the window ends. They are double cell shades and can't see even a shadow. You can open them all the way during the days. Don't remember the mfg but got them at Lowes, who installed them as they are pretty involved. We consider them one of our most successful purchases when setting the house up. Increase the functionality of the lanai greatly.
