This was posted today at 2 pm by Midge .. The thread was "an Oasis in Florida". You can check out the comments on that thread. It's an interesting article. Thanks for posting Allus.

I see no difference between a horse's a** and the author of the article.

While the article contains some accurate points (Hey! Nobody's perfect! The dopey author messed up and did get a few things right), generally it is an overwhelming array of misinformation, partial information, inaccuracies, faulty conclusions, errors, illogical deductions, outright stupidity, and stereotypical hyperbole tinged with ageism
and racism.

I am confident that my fellow TOTVers who are more intelligent or more eloquent- or both- than I will shred the author's assertions and suppositions. I defer comments regarding the specific content of the article to you, with one exception.

That exception is: I am incredulous that a Harvard professor would harbor, let alone express, such outrageously ignorant and blatantly bigoted thoughts. Embarrassingly pitiful.

I read this article as saying "If you want to live in sunny Florida buy in The Villages". Other areas of the state have issues. Actually very complementary of The Villages but expresses concerns about other areas including coastal cities.

It does seem to portray the Villages nicely. I know I really like getting back to the Villages when I have taken trips to the Clearwater/Tarpon Springs/Palm Harbor area of the Gulf Coast. They are not hurting as badly as some of the areas described in this article.

I have the same opinion of the Huff and Puff Post as I do for the Inquirer!
Aviod reading either and would never quote anything they wrote as fact.
