There are many forms of socialism, but the bigger, more relevant examples could only stay in place by way of KGB and torture of dissidents--or if you're lucky--execution, as in the case of the "Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics".

For God sake just go in read some of the material speak with the Republican reps, have a cup of coffee ,kick the tires and see what develops.
